A new family of cables from Tyco Electronics offer a low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) design in water-blocked and nonwater-blocked versions that meet rigorous requirements of flammability, smoke emissions, and halogen content. Designed for shipboard PROFIBUS networks, ZEROHAL PROFIBUS cables are fully qualified to MIL-DTL-24643/62 and are QPL listed.
With a rugged design to withstand the applied forces during installation, the 150-ohm cables support PROFIBUS and other industrial protocols at data rates to 12 Mb/s. The water-blocked versions meet the water-tightness requirements using ASTM D1411 synthetic sea-water. The two-conductor cables use 22 AWG solid conductors. The cables are available with single or double braided shields and are compatible with commercially available PROFIBUS connectors. MIL-DTL-24643/59 - /61 styles are also available.
